Reference Requirements

This reference check requires two current or former employers, managers or supervisors who directly oversaw the candidate's work. Coworker, peer, personal and family references do not meet the standard requirement.

If you have a hiring deadline, select your preferred completion date. Please allow at least 3 business days for candidate and reference responses. Mission Ready will send automated reminders while the check is outstanding.

Mission Ready Reference Checks is an automated service. Please make sure your candidate knows to expect an email from missionreadygroup.ca.

Please ask your candidate to:

Tell their references to expect an email from Mission Ready.
Ask their references to add missionreadygroup.ca to their safe sender list and check junk/spam folders.
Follow up directly with their references as needed.
Provide a replacement reference promptly if a reference declines, is ineligible, cannot be reached or does not respond.

Mission Ready sends automated invitations, reminders and status notifications. We do not manually contact or chase candidates or referees as part of the standard service. Requested completion dates are targets and cannot be guaranteed.

Mission Ready facilitates the collection and reporting of professional reference information. Reference responses are provided by third parties and Mission Ready does not guarantee their accuracy, completeness or authenticity.

Completion depends on candidate and referee participation. Requested completion dates are targets and cannot be guaranteed. Mission Ready sends automated invitations, reminders and status notifications but does not manually pursue candidates or referees as part of the standard service.

Employers are responsible for providing accurate candidate contact information and advising candidates to expect communications from Mission Ready. Candidates are responsible for providing accurate referee contact information, notifying their references in advance and following up with them as required. Mission Ready is not responsible for delays caused by incorrect contact information, recipient mail filters, blocked messages or failure by a candidate or referee to respond.

Fees are for initiation and administration of the reference-check service and do not guarantee that a candidate or referee will participate or complete the process. Fees are not refundable solely because a candidate or referee does not respond, declines to participate or fails to complete the request.

Reference information is provided to support the hiring process. All hiring, employment and selection decisions remain solely the responsibility of the hiring organization.

Employers are responsible for ensuring their use of reference-check information complies with applicable employment, human rights, privacy and other legal requirements.
